red velvet milk

I was doing some shopping at my local Target and came across this Red Velvet Milk. I was thinking score, liquid cupcake in a cup. For just under $3.00 and 270 calories, 9 grams of fat you got yourself 4 servings of this thick creamy red goodness with an expiration date deep into January. Its exactly what it is...red velvet in a cup. Its consistency is similar to "egg nog" or cake batter, very very thick. I had to thin mine out with a little bit of milk. It was still a nice treat. Warmed in the microwave topped with whip cream and some chocolate sauce would be even better. If you like red velvet, you will like the red velvet milk to go with it!!

The Perfect Circle Cupcakery

Featured on "Cupcake Wars" The Perfect Circle Cupcakery is one of my favorite local bakeries and nestled in the Old Town Orange Circle tucked between Chapman University and an array of antique shops. Once inside the Tiffany blue Vintage decorated shop, ones dream comes true as they smell of sweetness of life's littlest pleasure, the cupcake. One of my favorite cupcakes is the banana topped with cream cheese frosting, pecans and caramel. Their seasonal pumpkin cake is also just as delicious. They offer their daily favorites and seasonal treats. Each cupcake is $3.00 a piece or $33.00 a dozen. As a facebook follower a handful of fans can score free cupcakes by whispering the secret word when the time is right. http://www.tpccupcakery.com/

Chocolate Marshmellow

Its been quite some time since I made the trip into Newport. As a Sprinkles Facebook fan and Tweeter I have been constantly reminded how delicious these little cupcakes are. This very moist chocolate cake is just the right size for those who dont want to share. The fudgy treat had a doplet of marshmallowly ooze right in the center then was topped with a somewhat hardened dark chocolate frosting. Think Ding dong meets 2010...Delicious especially if you dont want a signature mile high frosted treat...but even if you did...grab a frosting shot on the side..

Knotts take two

In my home we are huge fans of White Chocolate. So I figure most bakeries would have something with the delicate little morsels on it. Now these little treats were not easy to find unless you beyond the counters deep into the fridge. This moist chocolate coated brownie was covered in 3 different chips. Moist and delicious.

Knotts Berry Farm

On a recent trip to Pinks hotdogs just outside the gates at the historical Knotts Berry Farm in Buena Park, I stumbled past a bakery...After consuming a 9 inch hot dog smothered in bacon, onions, mushrooms and nacho cheese I still had room befre I would have to unbutton my skinny jeans. I walked briskly past all the tourist shops and made my way to the bakery. This bakery has been here for a very long time and is home to some of the almost famous Mrs Knotts pies. A disappointment hit me as I made my way through the doors....Where were all the goodies? Now I understand it was near closing hours, but there assortment of treats was nothing special. They had a few cookies, some slices of cakes and 2 different cupcakes. Of course I had to have the one with the most frosting. The somewhat day old vanilla cupcake was piled high with a semi-sweet buttercream frosting in the shape of our good old friend Snoopy...not at all very sweet compared to the buttercreams I am used to. But it was still enjoyable and satisfied my craving.
